How to install on Windows
  1. Click Download Snapdrop for Windows above to save Snapdrop_Setup.exe.
  2. Open the downloaded installer and follow the setup wizard.
  3. (If Windows SmartScreen prompts "Windows protected your PC", click More info and select Run anyway).
  4. Launch Snapdrop and grant local network access in Windows Firewall.

Does Snapdrop require an active internet connection?
No! Snapdrop works purely on your local network (LAN) over your WiFi router or mobile hotspot. You do not need an active internet plan or mobile data to transfer files at maximum speeds.
Can I connect if I don't have a WiFi router?
Yes! Simply turn on Mobile Hotspot on your Android phone and connect your Windows PC to the hotspot. Even with mobile data turned OFF, both devices will discover each other instantly.
How does the Virtual Mouse feature work?
When you connect your Android app to the Windows app over WiFi, you can open the Remote Mouse tab on your phone. Moving your finger across your phone's screen moves the mouse cursor on your Windows PC in real-time with ultra-low latency. You can click, double-click, scroll web pages, and type text wirelessly.
Why does Windows SmartScreen or Android show a warning when downloading?
Because Snapdrop is an independently built free application that is not distributed through commercial app stores (which require expensive yearly developer subscriptions). The installer and APK are 100% clean, safe, and malware-free. On Windows, click "More info" -> "Run anyway". On Android, tap "Download anyway" and allow installing unknown apps from your browser.
