What is the SnapLoom SVG to PNG Converter?

The SnapLoom SVG to PNG Converter is a robust, developer-friendly tool designed to instantly render scalable vector graphics (SVG) into universally accepted raster image formats (PNG or JPG). It operates entirely within your browser, ensuring lightning-fast conversions without the need to upload files to remote servers.

Why Convert SVG to PNG or JPG?

While SVGs are fantastic for web development because they scale infinitely without losing quality, they aren't supported everywhere. Many social media platforms, email clients, and older software applications only accept raster formats like PNG or JPG. Converting your SVG allows you to share and upload your graphics across platforms that lack native vector support.

PNG vs. JPG: Which should I choose?

When converting from SVG, your choice of output format matters:
Choose PNG: If your SVG contains transparency (like a logo without a background), you must select PNG to preserve that transparent background.
Choose JPG: If your SVG is a complex illustration with many colors and no transparency, JPG will result in a significantly smaller file size. Since JPG doesn't support transparency, our tool allows you to specify a custom background color (defaulting to white) to fill in any empty space.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

How do I use the SVG converter?

You can either click the upload button to select an SVG file from your device, or paste the raw SVG code (XML markup starting with <svg>) directly into the text box. Then, select your desired output format, adjust the scale if needed, and click "Convert Image".

Why is my downloaded image blurry or too small?

SVGs often do not have an explicit physical size in their code. If your output image is too small or blurry, increase the "Scale (%)" value before converting. This tells the converter to render the vector at a much higher resolution before saving it as a PNG or JPG.

Is this tool secure?

Yes. The entire rendering process utilizes HTML5 Canvas directly in your web browser. Your SVG code and the resulting image files are never uploaded to our servers, ensuring total privacy for your designs.
